Bloganuary 2022 – Day 16 (Late! Again!)

I took yesterday off. From everything, well, everything except playoff (NFL) football. Sometimes it’s important to reset. Listen to your mind, and your body, and take that break. I’m feeling much better today.

What is a cause you’re passionate about and why?

I found this one a little difficult. I am outspoken and passionate about a few things, I would say they all fall under the umbrella of basic human decency and equality. I don’t know that I’d label that a “cause.”

I was taught at a young age that it is my responsibility to participate in democracy. I learned both the good, and the bad, of the history of the United States. I participated in rallies and marches from a young age. My first being for my rights as a woman to be treated fair and equally. My most recent rally was for the right to participate in free and fair elections, at the anniversary of the Freedom Riders rally on the DC Mall. I voted in every election since I was old enough to cast my ballot. Not just for the big elections, but local and midterms as well.

Is that a cause? I don’t know, I just feel like it is my obligation. For those who can’t, for those who aren’t free, and for those who came before me and paved the way.

Below are some photos from recent rallies I’ve participated in.
