Bloganuary 2022 – Day 1

In an effort to blog more frequently, I joined WordPress’s Bloganuary challenge for 2022. Each day I’ll receive a prompt for something to write about.

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Hello fellow teenager. How do you do?

I know times are really hard right now, you have done some things, some things have happened to you, you’ve lost friends and family, and it really just doesn’t look like you’re going to have a “normal” life.

You might not believe me, but “normal” ends up being boring. You’re see other people’s “normal” and think, whew! That’s what normal is? You are going to go on some grand adventures instead. You’re going to take what you’ve experienced and turn it into empathy and compassion towards others. You’re going to have the strength to fight for what’s right, and you’re not going to compromise yourself in order to find this unicorn named Normal.
